The Alchemist in Vermont, USA were the first to brew New England IPA. Sounds like the start to a poem doesn’t it…
Their take on this beer was a hazy, juicy IPA. The name comes from the New England region of America where a few of The Alchemists neighbouring breweries copied their method. It eventually became so trendy that it’s now become its very own style.
NEIPA is a cloudy/murky beer with bitterness ranging from non-existent to low. Our iteration is closer to a traditional IPA. There’s a lot of juicy hops in the dry hop and in the end of kettle boil, so aroma and floral notes really come through.
No matter what you’re view of this modern beer style everyone’s talking about, our NEIPA has a massive mouth-coating juiciness that’s hard not to love. Tropical fruits, passionfruit and citrus notes make this beer our most smashable yet, but watch that 6% ABV.
Like the sounds of it? Stay tuned for our Vanilla Ice cream NEIPA we’ve conjured up just for GABS (Great Australian Beer Spectacular) from 18th – 20th May.
It’s that time of the year again for that special lady in your life. It doesn’t matter if she’s ‘Mamaaaaaa’ in the style of Queen, or like Lizzy herself, your mother is a queen, and she deserves the world.
We’ll be open on Sunday 13th and can’t wait to meet your mums! We serve quality tucker, including stone-fired pizzas, hand-rolled pastas and beer-perfect snacks to share. Surely your mum told you sharing is caring?
Your mum may be an avid beer drinker for all we know, but if she ain’t, don’t fear! If she’s more of a char-don-ayy type like our favourite TV Mum Kath Day-Knight, our curated wine list stars quality wine creators with plenty of by-the-glass options.
So we’re open as usual for lunch, that’s great and all, but did you know we’re hosting a trivia night for Good Beer Week the same day? In our experience, mums always know best, so we think you should come together with your mum and make the ultimate mother and child trivia team! Hosted by comedian Dave Warneke, there’s a $500 bar and restaurant tab up for grabs. Tickets include first drink, food, fun and plenty of tasters.
Go on, do Mother’s Day a little differently this year and remember, nothing says I love you like a a pint.
It’s finally here! The in-house brewery at Burnley is being hooked up as we speak. They’re big, shiny and brew-tiful. Say g’day to our 5-hectolitre brewery system, including 8 brite tanks and 4 fermenters.
The installation of our brite tanks means we’re able to pour even more beers across our taps and gives you guys the chance to interact with our brewers whilst in action. Oh, you can also drink fresh from the tanks, pretty cool huh.
When our in-house system is fully up and running we’ll be able to release new beers more often, starting with our American Indian Amber Ale ‘The Malternative Hoption’. This creation is the love child of our awesome guests at the Melbourne Food and Wine Fest event ‘Burnley Brewing Beerocracy’.
We’re not even sure if an American Indian Amber Ale is a thing, but we do know it’s about to become one. We’ll be using caramel malts to bring out those toasty flavours and as for the hops; have you ever wanted to drag your tongue across a forest floor covered in pine needles? This beer will be your friend.
Join us on the pursuit of hoppinesss and keep an eye out for our first brew day, it’s right around the corner.
